The first component of my final project will be a short google slides slideshow. I will go through and teach my class how to play a Spanish game show. Also, I will give some history of that game show.
After that, I am planning to act out one of the game shows that I research. Pasapalabra sounds like a really fun one to play with my class, but as I go through and research different game shows, I may choose another one.
Pasapalabra
Pasapalabra is a popular Spanish game show where teams with two contestants play with celebrities to play certain games. Correct answers score teams seconds, which helps their time in the final stage of the game (“El rosco final”). In the El Rosco Final, the host will read a definition of a word that starts with a certain letter (going chronologically through the alphabet). If the contestant does not have an answer, they can pass by saying “pasapalabra”.
Pasapalabra first aired in 2000 with Silvia Jato as the host. In 2002, Constantino Romero became the host, and then after him Jaime Cantizano became the host.
The most money anyone has ever won from Pasapalabra was 1.8 million Euros. Since this game show is so popular and have celebrities come on it, winners usually make it on the news.
Questions
You may be wondering what I’m going to be writing this blog about. During every post, I will research a different Spanish game show. There will be three main questions for every post. Those questions are:
- How popular is this game show?
- What are the rules of this game show?
- What are the prizes for winning?
- Who hosts this game show?
Introduction
Hello, my name is Linnea Johansson. I love watching weird game shows (particularly Japanese ones but Señor wouldn’t let me do that), so I decided to explore Spanish game shows. So far, the three game shows that seem the most interesting are “Pasapalabra”, “El Grand Prix del Verano”, and “¿Qué dice la gente?”. I’m going to have a lot of fun watching and researching different game shows!
